Monitor Website Stats with 4 simple Firefox add-ons
Monitoring my website stats and visitors never was easier. With Firefox add-ons not that I’m monitoring my site stats, yet I can use these web trackers to track other website stats in my market or any other I visit. Firefox add-ons I use are alexa ranking tool, compete website visitors tool, Google Page status extension and FeedBurner subscriber stats.
For Firefox beginners – Firefox add-ons are simple to install browser’s accessories which are adding supplement features. They are optional and it’s why Firefox is far in front of other browsers what I’ve already wrote in previous post.
Back on the topic, all these web trackers are inserted into Mozilla Firefox’s status bar (lower toolbar), though for Compete and Alexa you can additionally install upper toolbars, but there is no much need for that.
This image is an example with Google’s stats. States automatically changes for any website you visit.

website stats
Here we go:
- Since Google Page Rank extension gives me instant information about PR, I have disabled Google Toolbar, bringing more space to my browser.
- Alexa ranking tool is giving you Worldwide traffic statistics. Alexa traffic rank is based on a combined measure of page views and users reach for last 3 months. Download alexa ranking tool.
- Compete tool is a little bit different of Alexa, because information is based on USA market, that is why these two don’t match. Go to Compete tools page and just choose “site profile extension” and “try it”, though I cannot remember do you have to register first.
- Feedburner subscriber will give you information on your RSS FeedBurner subscriber stats and you can read why your RSS subscribers disappear in FeedBurner occasionally.
For going deeper into my website’s stats you can check review of other website monitoring services and also Mashable’s list of 50+ ways to monitor website traffic.

Google places second in Alexa Rankings, Live.com fast catching up! January 2, 2009
Alexa is a very important benchmark to determine the rankings and traffic of sites. Google is placed at the 2nd position as per Alexa rankings and traffic rankings and is facing tough competition from Live.com and of course Yahoo.
